Default Removing DOD for a manifold upgrade

I'm not asking about tuning. I'm wanting to know about the internal stuff. I would keep the stock lifters but what about the lifter valley tray and oil gallery's. I'm looking into getting a LS6 intake and tray but what else would need to be done to remove the DOD in order to make the manifold an easier swap. I'm asking about the DOD stuff not TB adapter plates, power steering reservoirs, fuel rails or other related swap info. I have read Tired GXPs threads and posts and am waiting anxiously for results. I know the DOD is good for mileage but I hate it! Especially, with my new exhaust. I don't think makes that big of a diff since my cousins 95 T/A would get 28mpg.

Didb't Tired kinda give up on his intake project because the TB plate adapter and something about an oil fitting was making things difficult.

HA!

Just taking my time. Been working on restoring a Fiero for the last couple of months.

But if you guys are looking for an update:

TB adapter is finished.
DOD plug has been relocated so I can retain DOD with the LS6 intake.
Oil pressure sending unit mount has been angled to allow the sending unit to clear the intake's neck.

All that's left is to seal off the rear of the intake (had to remove the LS6's MAP sensor mount because it occupies the same space that the power steering resevoir occupies) and add a couple of more vacuum ports.

Just for a refresh, here's a couple of pics:
