I'd like to put my two cents in here. I am the previous owner of three 4.6L Mustang GTs, a 1998 5-speed, an 03 auto, and an 03 5-speed. The GXP is much faster than the 98 and the 03 auto, and my 03 5-speed had a few bolt ons (Accufab plenum and throttle body, steeda pulleys, slp LM2 catback. No gears, no midpipe), and the GXP is just as quick. If a PI headed Mustang (99-04) has gears and the driver can launch, the Mustang can win, but stock to stock the LS4 cars are easily their match. Check the timeslip section GTRACER88, I haven't heard of many stock 99-04 GTs that can run a 13.68 with an amateur driver at the wheel. The quickest I've seen is a 13.7 posted by Mucle Mustangs and Fast Fords.

And for what it's worth, can't we all just get along? We all drive American V8's, and we are all proud of our cars. Let's save the hate for the ricers...

I just get pissed when someone thinks its their personal calling to come in here and **** in our threads....Remember the TBSS guys that came in with numbers and started calling bullshit on everything we said.

Whatever guys....its the internet. Don't take it so seriously. We are slow anyway, dont pick on us unless you have an inferiority complex NapoleanGTRACER88.

LOTS AND LOTS off bullshit in this thread.

My buddys ws6 rana 13.1@108 bone stock and he tore up my cousins monte carlo ss wiht the v8 and he had a tune and intake.

Then again its not hard to launch a automatic and just go at it the 6 speed is a lot harder plus will pass you up pretty easy.

I know about autos. My wifes Stock tbss ran a 13.3@103.97 just smaller tires and auto is very easy to launch

I have to realize most people dont know how to drive their cars so then again someone says oh i beat a vett and i know guys with z06 vetts that dont know how to drive them and run mid 13s at the track but traps are like 115 lol

I didn’t read every post – so hold the flame.

I just wanted to say that just because someone is moving quickly off of a stop light or onto the freeway doesn’t always mean that they are racing.

I roll around town in a 600+ HP LS1 Camaro and I have had plenty of cars that could roll up and make a ton of noise and drive crazy when I’m only cracking half throttle as to not alert every cop within 5 square miles that I’m out and ready for another ticket.

Racing should be kept on the track anyway so go get some time slips and stop with the kill lists.

This is pretty damn cute. We have posted slips running 13.0-13.6. Running around stock LS1 times. No we are not the fastest of the ls family but hell we surprise people. As to the kills of a ws6, its a 6 year old car who knows what could be wrong with it? I tied a 1998+ z28 m6 with 3 200+lbs guys. Granted the extreme redlining and lack of driving knowledge from the 16 year old kid. Go to the street racing section on this forum and you will get the same bs you hear here. I see threads like "Stock ls1 vs pullied cobra" and the ls1 wins. You all say bs but anything can happen on the streets and tell the guy good kill. So please act like adults here and quit your crying about this. Anything can happen on the streets.

when you are racing on the streets, it is pretty easy to beat a car that will otherwise be is 3-5 tenths faster than you at the track. just a little jump and thats it., there is no tree signaling that you redlighted. so it is very possible for our family oriented ls4 cars to emberrass other so called high perfromance cars.

A little LS4 kill story...I Had a run in with a Red Impala SS (unsure of exact year) this weekend. I'm not sure if he knew what a CTS-V was and wanted to see me run, or just heard me rumbling next to him and thought he could take me, either way, when the light turned he hit it. Obviously it was not a close race. I shut it down in mid 3rd as we merged onto the tollway. He was a good sport and as we passed each other on the tollway he clapped and gave me the thumbs up, and I reciprocated.

Its always fun when both parties involved are good sports.

i dont even bother racing anymore because half the time the people who try to mess with me have half the engine i do but they just rev it up and expect me to do the same. i know that my car would basically destroy more than 75% of the cars that are on the road today. the only cars that would destroy me are cars that cost 2-3 times as much and i dont even mess around with those. racing is only legit if you do it on the track and have numbers to back it up. my friend just bought a 06 Evo MR, cant drive stick for his life and when we raced i destroyed him, so you can say you beat anything out there but it doesnt mean that the driver mod is the best suited for that car.

Well, this is a LS4 Kill Story thread so I shared my LS4 kill. Are you saying that if he was a better driver he would have beaten me? I was under the impression that the Impala SS had an automatic transmission, not manual. Driver error would contribute a lot more with a manual. Missing a gear or shifting at the wrong time can allow the lessor vehicle to prevail. In this case all he had to do was floor it and hope for me to make an error in my driving.

I was curious as to the specs on the LS4 as I am unfamiliar with it. Also Wondering if the guy I ran was on here.

Dude, chill. Where did SS 07 ever reference the words "CTS-V", your user name or anything like that in his post. He just talked about his views on racing and an Evo.

Impala SS 07 I pretty much agree with you. When I'm cruising around most of the time I just get revved at by 4 bangers or 6 bangers. Not really worth it. A lot of times when I run into another powerful car we'll cruise together rather than race. I was out over the weekend and came across a Z06. We both checked each other over, gave each other a nod and then both went into the left lane and picked up speed. For a while we were just shooting down empty Michigan back country roads and having fun. When we started to hit the sprawl around Ann Arbor we cut it down, gave each other a thumbs up and went about our seperate ways. I did the same thing with a CTS-V on a the highway a few weeks earlier. We were both cruising, spotted each other, jumped over to the left lane and played together.

I find myself doing it a lot on the Ohio Turnpike. I'll make a few friends with various powerful cars cruising and we'll cruising in a little pack together until we hit our exits.

5.3 Liter LS4. 303 HP, 323 Pound Feet of Torque, 4 gears.

One limitation of the car is that it slips into 4 cylinder mode to save gas sometimes at times when you are under 80 mph and 8% throttle. So a lot of times when a LS4 is cruising on a highway its engine will fall aslep and make it slow to jump on the hit.

Thanks. That's got to help with the gas milage.

That's more or less what we did. I don't care if I roll up next to a 911 Turbo, I'll still see if he gives me the thumbs up or nod. Yes, I know he will kill me but its still fun. As long as the tollway isn't crowded.

If I behave and keep from hitting the gas I can get low 20 mpg cruising around. If I behave really well and lock the cruise control on I can hit 27 mpg.

Ohhh, I get it. The kills you have while driving your LS4...not the killing of the LS4. I must be a tool.

I'll stay in my forum, sorry.
