No your not alone, I can see possibly 25-40 extra HP/TQ out his mods, I dont see any rockers or any other supporting mods to make any real HP/TQ to FWHP or flywheel hp. I'm not sure bout the Fitch, (Ill have to look into that) but a shift kit don't add anything, (just faster shifts). A free flowing intake and exhaust is basically all I see! HP tuned might add 10-15 HP depending on TQ manegmant, along with the ported intake w/Jet MAF (which I can't imagine adds but maybe 1-2 HP/TQ). Anyone else see anything else? Dude I'm not being a DICK but I don't see anything else to add any real power! Ok then at tops I see 40 extra HP/TQ, and thats being nice, so whats that 340 hp? Dude if your going to say your have soo many HP? have something like a dyno sheet to back it up!

I pulled 345/370 will just a k&n, exhaust, tune, with my blue car before it was totalled, and I've done a lot more then that to this car, and I don't give a **** what you guys think I'm pulling, I know how she feels compared to the blue car and since no body but me has had there intake ported then you can't talk, and by the way there is a dyno of my blue car around here somewhere, if you knew how to search then maybe you'd know that

I will but that won't be till after I do the roller rockers, but the blue car did pull those numbers, my dyno is on this site somewhere, and the porting helps more then you think, and in that I included the cutout, without the cutout I figure 370 fyi

You must be new to this game. It all adds up. The trick is finding the right combo of stuff to do what you want it to do based upon your driving habits. You want some real power gains then you're be doing some majoor engine work. Big gains come from cylinder head work or replacement along with changing the camshaft and doing what Aaron Provost does in porting.

I have a small block that I "Blueprinted" in the past and it's making 500+ HP and sends my car through the traps at 11.56 ET. It's about how much money you want to spend and how much work you're willing to get involved with to reach your goal. Listen to these guys. They have a lot of experience already. I've been in this game a long time and I have learned to listen and follow the first guy lead. Especially when he's been there and done that.

I myself just want a credible street car that'll hold its own and looks respectable. I'll win some battles and I'll lose some battles, but I won't look like a chump doing either. I have a '86 Trans Am tha'll win the war for me, though. Plus, my wife will only let me spend money in one toy. Not two. Speed comes with greed. Tell me how hungry you are and I'll tell you how much money you have to spend to get there.

I looked at the MAF yesterday and the Wire Mesh Screen was cocked. I must have not seated it properly and made it move while installing it along with the CAI and TBS.

Mileage is a lot better. Came up 3-4 MPG. I'm going to work with this aftermarket stuff a little while longer to get a good feel for what I'm doing and try my hand a few things and post the results as I go along. I'm still going to pick your brain and steal your talents. We'll keep trying until we get it right.

Are we having fun, yet? I'm sure am.

PEACE!

I am with you, I am not trying to be mean. . .just feel like I am missing something. I just don't see anything that big there to add almost a third again of stock HP. I have built a lot of different style of motors in my day and I just haven't seen any magic port and tune that can pull out that much juice, as compared to stock.

Conclusion:

I experimented and spent a $100.00+ in fuel this weekend to conclude that K&N CAI is what's causing the most fuel consumption out of the three components I installed. Removing the TBS did little or no change to my fuel consumption.

I played with the stock and aftermarket MAF I have to see what would happen. Both had similar results with the screen in place and screen removed. You know that I like it better with the screen removed because of the performance gain. Aftermarket MAF screams upstairs with the screen removed. Still, I MPG difference was 2 MPG

Stock Air Box vs. K&N CAI gave me a difference of 5-7 MPG traveling 50 miles down the highway with the cruise control set at 60 MPH.

I was paid a visit by the highway patrol in Delaware to see if I was having problems during one of my stops to change the MAF before making the run back to Pennsylvania.

To conclude, I will definitely need a tuner to dial everything in to see improvements in MPG. Tuner will be ordered in late September. Got to save and pay for a cruise in October. Don't get married if you love playing with this stuff. Maybe I can take the car on the cruise with me instead of the wife. Now, that's a thought to consider.

F this I'm calling you a liar. 345 HP 370 TQ at the wheels with exhaust, CAI, tune? Bu bu bu bu bu bullllllshit. Most people dyno in the mid to high 200's as far stock HP. Even if you dynoed 290 HP, you are saying you added 50 HP with exhaust/tune/CAI.

Tell your dyno guy to readjust the rollers or put the pipe down.
