I have a small block that I "Blueprinted" in the past and it's making 500+ HP and sends my car through the traps at 11.56 ET. It's about how much money you want to spend and how much work you're willing to get involved with to reach your goal. Listen to these guys. They have a lot of experience already. I've been in this game a long time and I have learned to listen and follow the first guy lead. Especially when he's been there and done that.
I myself just want a credible street car that'll hold its own and looks respectable. I'll win some battles and I'll lose some battles, but I won't look like a chump doing either. I have a '86 Trans Am tha'll win the war for me, though. Plus, my wife will only let me spend money in one toy. Not two. Speed comes with greed. Tell me how hungry you are and I'll tell you how much money you have to spend to get there.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Mileage is a lot better. Came up 3-4 MPG. I'm going to work with this aftermarket stuff a little while longer to get a good feel for what I'm doing and try my hand a few things and post the results as I go along. I'm still going to pick your brain and steal your talents. We'll keep trying until we get it right.
Are we having fun, yet? I'm sure am.
PEACE!

I experimented and spent a $100.00+ in fuel this weekend to conclude that K&N CAI is what's causing the most fuel consumption out of the three components I installed. Removing the TBS did little or no change to my fuel consumption.
I played with the stock and aftermarket MAF I have to see what would happen. Both had similar results with the screen in place and screen removed. You know that I like it better with the screen removed because of the performance gain. Aftermarket MAF screams upstairs with the screen removed. Still, I MPG difference was 2 MPG
Stock Air Box vs. K&N CAI gave me a difference of 5-7 MPG traveling 50 miles down the highway with the cruise control set at 60 MPH.
I was paid a visit by the highway patrol in Delaware to see if I was having problems during one of my stops to change the MAF before making the run back to Pennsylvania.
To conclude, I will definitely need a tuner to dial everything in to see improvements in MPG. Tuner will be ordered in late September. Got to save and pay for a cruise in October. Don't get married if you love playing with this stuff. Maybe I can take the car on the cruise with me instead of the wife. Now, that's a thought to consider.
