Default Some problems with the car

I just recently bought my '06 MC SS, it only has 25K km's (15K miles) but everytime I go over bumps or potholes I hear the shocks make an audible compression noise (that I don't hear on any other cars) Anybody notice this on theirs?

Also when I have traction control off and am coming to the apex of the turn and floor it, the car hesitates about 3 times before it starts going, it's like the tranny downshifts and then it just jerks and tries again and jerks, 3 times, really annoying. Is this a common problem with the tranny? It has happened a few times and even after a turn where I'm already pointed straight and do this it happens, I'm sure I can get it to do it if the service tech goes with me. I think it may be the passing gear that is supposed to drop to the lowest possible gear when you floor it, so maybe that's faulty..

My shocks make the same noise. As to the transmission, it's a 4-speed out of a damn truck. But yes it's a common problem that, when stomping on it, it hesitates. A shift kit will fix this. That, or when turning in on a corner, shift down in to third and floor it. It's at a 1:1 gear ratio in third.

Mine make the same noise also, it doesn't bother me though. The only time I hear it when I am going slow over bumps. I prefer to spend my time going FAASSSTTTT !!!!

I'm not sure about the transmission problem though. You sure its not the score prevention programming? You know the computer really screws with the transmission badly when one wheel spins more than the other to prevent damage to the transaxle. This happens with or without the trac control on. Lots of people have this problem. It's happened to me also.

I'm not familiar with score prevention programming, is there a way to turn that off? It seems dangerous when this happens, for example if I needed to pass a semi truck on a two way road and it started this bullshit while I floor it, I'd have a head-on collision.

How long does it take to install a shift kit?

The only time that the score prevention programming will activate is when you are spinning the tires, especially when turning. It will not always activate when spinning straight line unless one tire is spinning faster than the other, like what would happen say one tire in the oil streak in the road or one tire off the road and the other on the road. If this is not what you are experiencing, then by all means, I'd take her to the dealer if it's under warranty.

And no, there is no current way to turn it off although it can be programmed out using after market tuners. And by the way, disabling it would be detrimental to your transaxle if you spun out very much at all. I wouldn't do it, I like my tranny to get me back home, but like I said, this may not be what you are experiencing. If it is stalling and you never even spun the tires then this is NOT your issue.

303 horses is a lot for a front wheel drive vehicle, they incorporated a lot of stuff to keep people from tearing them up, not to say they didn't really screw up some other stuff like the ISS.

The tranny skipping is not a problem, its protection. Tune it out if you want, but then you will be spitting halfshafts out the transaxle all day long. Haha its a FWD drive with a V8...don't kid yourself into thinking this is a corner carver.

Traction control brakes a wheel to keep each wheel spinning at the same speed. if you don't want the jerking dont turn off traction control

Like they said it's the DSP - differential score protection...and it's there to do just that. They were "smart" enough to know that we'd be turning off TC with the hopes of doing serious burnouts, and that they could do less warranty work by keeping that programming in there. Don't know if anyone has effectively tuned out the DSP...we've just learned to NOT jam on the gas with the wheels cocked.

As for the gassy compression noise you get when hitting bumps...it's completely normal.
