Some problems with the car
Also when I have traction control off and am coming to the apex of the turn and floor it, the car hesitates about 3 times before it starts going, it's like the tranny downshifts and then it just jerks and tries again and jerks, 3 times, really annoying. Is this a common problem with the tranny? It has happened a few times and even after a turn where I'm already pointed straight and do this it happens, I'm sure I can get it to do it if the service tech goes with me. I think it may be the passing gear that is supposed to drop to the lowest possible gear when you floor it, so maybe that's faulty..

I'm not sure about the transmission problem though. You sure its not the score prevention programming? You know the computer really screws with the transmission badly when one wheel spins more than the other to prevent damage to the transaxle. This happens with or without the trac control on. Lots of people have this problem. It's happened to me also.

I'm not familiar with score prevention programming, is there a way to turn that off? It seems dangerous when this happens, for example if I needed to pass a semi truck on a two way road and it started this bullshit while I floor it, I'd have a head-on collision.
How long does it take to install a shift kit?
And no, there is no current way to turn it off although it can be programmed out using after market tuners. And by the way, disabling it would be detrimental to your transaxle if you spun out very much at all. I wouldn't do it, I like my tranny to get me back home, but like I said, this may not be what you are experiencing. If it is stalling and you never even spun the tires then this is NOT your issue.
303 horses is a lot for a front wheel drive vehicle, they incorporated a lot of stuff to keep people from tearing them up, not to say they didn't really screw up some other stuff like the ISS.

As for the gassy compression noise you get when hitting bumps...it's completely normal.
