Rebuilt LS1 shortblock LS1 shortblock, just rebuilt by a well known race engine shop. New ARP rod bolts were installed when it was rebuilt. Standard bore. Standard crank journals. Engine is still at the shop in Dallas. $1500. My direct email is js1379@aol.com.

The shortblock is a rebuilt stock LS1. It was rebuilt using a stock parts with the exception of a set of new ARP rodbolts since the stock rodbolts are the weakest part of a stock shortblock. The rodbolts are much stronger than stock but add no additional horsepower. While this 5.7 liter shortblock will bolt right in to your truck, the only horsepower gains would be from the increased displacement and higher compression ratio. With the addition of aftermarket parts, such as a high performance camshaft, headers, freeer flowing heads, and such, the shortblock is capable of handling upwards of 600 horsepower. The person who really needs this shortblock is someone with either very high mileage on their current engine or who has serious mechanical problems with their current engine. There are plenty of used shortblocks on the market but you take a big chance buying one because you have no way of knowing exactly what you are buying. It may burn oil, have high mileage wear, out of round cylinders, have been used with high shots of nitrous, and such. With a completely rebuilt shortblock which has been rebuilt by a reputable machine shop and uses a block with standard bore dimensions, a crank which did not have to be reground, and all new rings and bearings you have a very much more desirable shortblock because you have in effect a new shortblock with zero miles on it.
