Default complete LS6 engine....

out of an 03 ZO6 with just over 33,000 miles. It sits in my garage and only comes out for a drive once in a while.Untouched except for upgraded retainers ,springs and pushrods because I was going to put a cam in it but didn't.I want to put a 4XXci in the car so that's why this engine is for sale.I've been told different things as to what it's worth so I'll just ask $5900 or OBO!( let's see if this works)
thanks,Jimmy
*update*.......Heads are ordered and should be hear bythe 18th for this engine and if it doesn't sell by the time they get hear I'll withdraw the sale.If you're within a few hours drive of me maybe we can work something out to deliver in person.

Well a brand new GM LS6 engine is a little over 5k... LS2 is about the same price and that's from GM w/ warantee and all covers, coil packs, waterpump, crank pulley, etc..

where did you find that out? I just checked it out and a LS6 crate engine is $7295 new from GM.

I just checked SDPC's website really quickly.. not trying to hurt your sale.. just trying to let you know how much they cost.

Also remember if you are getting a new engine you are going to most likely keep your valve covers, crank pulley, waterpump, coil packs, etc so you would be selling a less complete engine then a GM crate motor.

4300 is a longblock, not a complete motor.

GM longblocks come with a lot of stuff but you are missing a few accessories and computer and harness.. but I am assuming this guy isn't selling his complete pullout motor.

negative buddy, check again.I just checked the same website and it's $7295 plus shipping. And,I said a complete ls6 engine.I don't need anything from it because I'll be getting a completly different setup. Are you sure you just didn't come on here thinking I didn't know what I was talking about? This is a good engine in great shape so I'm open to offers.

ok ok.. i was just letting you know. Good luck with your sale.

I might have mistaken it for a superior LS2 crate motor for $5,500

i think its pointless. people that know, wont buy it, and if someone pays 6500 for a used 33000 mile motor, they deserve to be ripped.
ive found the motor several places online for 5300.

prefer an ls6 over an ls2, why?
ls2 has more cubes, same cylinder head and camshaft.
for what you are asking, i could buy a crate ls2, thats new with a warranty and save a grand.

I wouldn't expect to get more than 3500 for this motor. But what do I know I paid 400 for my longblock...

Well, with wiring hrness, PCM, and full compliment of acouterments and accessories with that mileage would be worth $5K if you have someone looking to buy it to forge up and rebuild. I don't think anyone just looking for a motor to replace a blown up motor would pay over $4,500 for the package.

Just my .02 cents worth ... I'd start at $5,800 and you might get for $5,000. This is just my opinion from a few actual transactions I have seen.

Let's see,405 hp to 400 horses, my LS6 will outrun an LS2 setup the same way.Like I said before,I'm open to offers.I already have plenty of people wanting this engine so it must be worth something.I'm an easy guy to work with but I'm not going to give it away.Where did you find that motor for $5300?I looked on SDPC2000.com
