hello, i just bought a 1995 z28 convertible. it has a obd 2 plug, but the system is obd1. i have a obd2 scanner, and i bought one of those small scanners from autozone for obd1, but neither will work, so how do i get codes? i have a check engine light, if i code get code be very nice. thanks need help.

 

95s are all kinds of weird man....you need to use like snapon scanner or something of that nature that is compatible with both...

 

You can get an AKM cable and pull the codes that way. Were are you located?

 

i am by chicago. i am not a computer guy. was looking on sshbox and they had a article on 16 pin obd2 to 12 pin obd1. i tryed that and now the car wont start. just turning over won't fire, i think i used wrong pins. could i have messed up computer.
