383 Acting Funny
My Forged 383 is finally assembled and we have been running into a few problems. Originally we had the Comp Cam 503 installed with 30 lb injectors but ran into Low Vacuum readings. We then switched to a smaller cam of about .480 and put the stock injectors back in. The car will now hold an idle, but only when the MAF sensor is unplugged. When the MAF is plugged in it takes more than 3 cranks to start, and wont hold an idle very well. You can also smell unburnt gas. We hooked up a scan tool and had found low readings on both brand new 02s when the MAF was plugged in. The only thing left to question is the tune. I have already had my PCM tuned once by Madtuner for the the 503 Camshaft and 30 lb injectors and the car ran like crap with those supporting mods. Could this all be a sensor issue? Where do I go now? Any help is appreciated
503 cam should have had plenty of vacuum, and 30lbs injectors were a good choice. I strongly suspect something was done wrong on assembly. We all make mistakes, the sucessful guys just see them, admit them, learn from them and move on.
First time I had an intke off I screwed it up and had to redo it because the gaskets did not seal creating a BIG vacuum leak.
