my car is a odb1 car and was wondering if i had to get it tunned for the stall. its a tci street fighter. car ran fine for about 15 passes pulled a 1.57 60ft now if i leave hard the car hits the rev limiter when shifting from 1st to 2nd. driving it on the street the car shifts fine. only when its hooks it does it. anyone with any ideas. thanks

 

how loose is that converter?

 

I have always heard of OBD1 guys needing to tune for the stall to get rid of "stall wall" and to change the shift rpm at WOT, part throttle etc. etc.

 

wat is stall wall. wat would make the car just start doing it. could it b the tranny and stall aint really that loose. also i didnt pick up that musc et with swapping stalls car went a 13.16 @106 now with dr and the stall 13.15@102

 

Do you have any data logging software? I have my computer tuned for my new engine and lately at the track when my car launched hard i lose VSS or else it stops at 5 mph. The car then doesn't shift and the transmission defaults and goes to 3rd gear. I havent figured out why i'm losing VSS though

 

I had a madz28 tune and it took care of any problems. I have an Edge racing 3300 stall in my 95 Trans am.

 

I too, have had my tune checked by Ion. No problems here. I'm using a Yank SS3600.

 

Ions tune took care of my stall wall issues but I'm still bouncing off rev limiter in 2nd to 3rd.

 

^^Lower the shift MPH by a couple, that should help it.

 

What merve said to do will likely fix your problem. In the tables there is a shift MPH table and a RPM threshhold table. The shifting actually takes place at the specified RPM but it will not happen until the speed in the MPH table is reached first.

 

Yep, that's another thing Ion touched up last week to help the 2-3 shift on the bottle.
