urgent Tommorrow I'll be getting my car back from the mechanic thats installing a rebuilt tranny with a shift kit and new torque converter. NOW my question is what should I expect out of a "new tranny" with a shift kit to feel like?
is it a stock converter or a higher stall? if its stock then you will feel a nice fast solid shift. higher stalls will coushin the shift more so it wont feel as hard even though it is.
Hard shifts will break this transmission.
They should be quick and positive but not a hard snap. Most guys are tickled when they get one back and it snaps hard but over time it gets old and then things break.
