Cool Head and cam problem.

I am buying ported LT1 heads off a forum member I have have a two part question. 1* Since I don't know the flow characteristics of the heads how can a buy a cam that is going to maximize my potential? 2* Knowing first problem is a custom cam worth the money? I want the most power I can get, but this car is my daily driver 6 or so months out of the year. Thanks guyz.

you would have to get the heads flow tested to be sure about the flow the #'s. and yes a custom cam is always worth it over an off the shelf the cam(not saying off the shelf is bad!)

Pretty much what Camaro-94-Z28 said is all true. What heads are you getting? Who did the port work? Do you have pics? You might want to find out that info before you go purchasing heads. A custom ground cam is well worth the money. And you will see more horspower throughout the RPM band compared to a similar off the shelf cam (majority of the time)
