Default Need Help Please!!!

My TA is DEAD!!!
I'm about 100% sure it is the opti, it has been running like crap (misfiring, sputtering), but now it just cranks and will not start. There is fuel pressure during cranking and the injectors are new.
I had a water pump bolt leaking right on the opti, so all of that makes me believe the opti is BAD.

Now I cannot decide which way I should fix it...
1) Replace the opti? There is an MSD opti for sale in the classified section for a reasonable price. Is the MSD any good?
2) Buy a complete LTCC kit? Again there is a complete kit for sale in the classifieds. But if I buy this will I also have to buy a new opti, or is there a chance that my old opti will work with the LTCC?

Thanks for any information!

Yea, def go new to avoid doing it twice. Also, while you have that area all apart might as well do the water pump also as long as its all apart

How do you go about checking for spark (Safely)?

take your wire off of your number one spark plug or really any and put a spark plug on it and set it on a ground(exhaust maniflod/header, etc) and crank it and there should be spark for every crank...if its irradic or none its most likely the opti

So I checked the spark on plug #1 and it seemed to spark in sequence. When I pulled the plug it smelled strongly of fuel so I think the plugs might be shot!
I am just trying to get the car running, so I am not worried about used parts since I have a complete new 385 LT4 waiting in Montana to put in it.
I mainly want to know if an LTCC can be used with a bad opti? I remember reading a while back that the usual problem with the opti is the "spark" side and that is what is by-passed with the LTCC.

im not sure on that! i know if your plugs are fowled out then that could cause it not to run....buy new plugs and put them in and see what it does...almost garuntee it will run..make sure you gap them right though!!
