Vacuum pump delete?

Vacuum pump delete? I'm putting my T/A back together, and noticed I'm missing the bracket to mount the vacuum pump. I've heard of people just getting rid of it altogether.. And figured I might as well do that now, instead of going out and finding a bracket.
What are the pro's and con's of doing this? And what exactly do I need to do in order to get rid of it?

Pro's nothing really. I noticed a greatly improved idle smoothness (sadly gone now). Con's would be emissions, but since you live here in MN, it doesn't matter 
Yank it off, cap off any open plumbing and call it a day!
Yank it off, cap off any open plumbing and call it a day! you're refering to the Air pump right? I know the 94-95 B-cars can disable it due to a TSB. It goes bad and collects water in it, then it will spray that water into the air filter. Most of us B-body guys delete it. Cleans up the engine bay

Yeah, I meant the AIR pump. My buddy called it a "vacuum pump" so I wasn't sure what to call it..
I'm moving to Iowa, however.. I highly doubt they'd have any emissions though..

People have said you don't have to tune it out as long as you just unplug it and leave in the fuse (yes leave IN the fuse). But, I can't say since I don't have a PCM model LT1

The Air Injection Reactor on these cars only operated when the engine was cold, and at that, only for as little as two minutes as the engine warmed up. It really didn’t "take" any power from the engine, besides, it’s electrically powered.
It added cool, fresh air into the exhaust manifold and it mixed with the hot gasses as it came out of the ports.
As stated above, there was a TSB on the B body cars that stopped it’s operation.
Most guys remove it because it makes the engine compartment look cluttered. It’s the first thing I yanked off my car when I got it.
