my winter work finally!! ok so its been 4yrs since ive planned to do this and now i finally get to. this winter ill be removing the motor and trans. ill be rebuilding the motor as a forged 383 and set it up wit a big cam and 150-200 shot of gas. the trans is comin out wit it because itll be easier to put the new clutch and flywheel in.the heads im still up in the air about id lik to do a set of le3's but its not in the budget so im lookin at le2 or le1's but still not sure. my goal is for 425+hp on motor and about 550-600hp on the bottle. along with all this ill be gettin an s60 a driveshaft and depending on the times it lays down maybe a 6 point roll bar. ill keep updating this wit pictures and everything i already hav a few pics but just of the jegs wheels and hoosiers and the n20 kit.
11/18 update i no its been awhile since i first posted this but i have an update i found a block on ebay its a shortblock 383 with forged crank 6" rods with lifters timing chain and gears oil pump oil pan pistons balanced with 2 bolt main caps. i believe we will be using different pistons and we will be havin it changed to a splayed 4 bolt main. and all this for $1500.
were pricing out a 10 point right now cuz after lookin at alot of peoples setups lik wat we'll be doin alot of them r runnin close to 9s on motor and were gonna spray a 200 shot so we dont know wat to expect now cuz we thought itd only be high tens at best and now we see some ppl r going faster with less

Brett Foote ill hav a few pics of the new block next week wen we get it and ill hav a few things to sell off of the block lik a cc503 cam and a set of lifters with it and also the pistons
update 11/27 well after 12hrs in the truck from thanksgiving traffic we finally got the new shortblock home the thing is real nice was built right and with this we made a connection with this guy he knows a lot about lt1s and just cars in general said he builds about 4 motors a months as a hobby lol well heres a few pics of the new motor and one of the main caps.
