p0300 giving some problems, need some help!
p0300 giving some problems, need some help! A friend has a 96z and recently the car has been a nightmare. He's replaced various ignition components to no avail, and now hes getting to the point of running it into a ditch and burning the car down 
. Here's the symptoms and list of new parts.
Car runs decent at part throttle, but under load it pops and misfires. Although it still hauls a$$(beat my friends low 13sec stock LS1) its got ignition issues that don't seem to go away. For a period of 15-20min the car ran without a hiccup but all the problems came back right after. SO what do you guys think, should he burn it yet...LOL?
New parts:
AC Delco opti
NGK TR55 plugs
Autozone replacement wires
Autozone coil
ICM checked out to be in good working order
Fuel filter(old one was clogged)
Opti harness looks good
Mods:
Hotcam kit
LT's w/ bullet dumped
K&N CAI
TB air foil
3.73's
stock converter

Told my friend to check the wires and make sure they weren't touching as I've heard that causes issues with the ignition. Waiting for him to get back to me on that.
Didnt think about ruuning the car in open loop, I remember my car ran fine like that till I was able to replace the 02's. Thanks for the tip, we'll try it and post back.
