The only difference is a crank of 3.75 vs. 3.48 (if I remember it right). You will also need to clearence the block for the extra stroke to clear the rods/bolts.

It helps to pick the right rods too. Some folks pick a cheap say Eagle rod(not all just some parts numbers) and it causes a LOT of extra hassle in cam clearance and block clearancing

i know the stroke is different i mean a headache as in its a lot more other eternal parts needed to support/handle those extra more cubes, like fuel pump, injectors..misc things like that, or im gonna need all that for the 355 any ways..the reason i ask cuz if i do need all that stuff for the 355 i might as well go 383.

If you have the money for the crank go ahead and do the 383..... it won't be much different than going with a ***** out 355..... you're going to need injectors anyways for the 355 and 30's and 36's and 42's are usually right around the same money..... you wont' need anything radically different to support the additional 28 cubes....

And select pistons designed for the longer stroke.
If you use pistons designed for a 3.48 stroke, they'll be above the deck with a 3.75 stroke.
