what the hell is wrong

what the hell is wrong i have a 1996 z28 with an obd1 conversion from madz28 (madtuners). i bought the car about a week ago, mods already done. my keyless entry system seems to have a problem. please let me know if you have had this problem and if there is any way to fix it.
No matter whether i use the remote, or the button inside, after the doors are shut and the car is left alone, for say, 3-4 seconds, the car alarm starts going off. i have no idea where to start. i do know however that the remote i have is a four button remote, and most of this gen. were 3 button remotes.
no trickery/ fooling around on my part, i seriously dont know wtf is going on.
