True or false Turn your LT1 into the engine it wants to be.

Stock for Stock the LS1 puts out more power.
Here is something interesting to think about..
The Stock LT4 is 330hp, 310tq(something like that)
They claim it to be 425hp with the Intake, Heads, Rockers, and LT4 Hot Cam.
So essentially that Kit when complete is that Stock 330hp LT4 with just the Hot Cam installed after you are done, then magically it's 425hp.
The Hot Cam here is shown to have a 95hp increase..
But that's if you think about it..

I had a friend with a 94 Formula and LT4 heads, hot cam, 1.6's, hooker lt's, ORY, loudmouth and an SLP CAI. Car sounded mean but never made good power. I think he dynoed at about 390 flywheel. Buy better parts for the money, LT4 heads are outdated.

It's true and false. Reasons being is said though, FWHP vs RWHP. That 425fw to 330rw conversion is a wee bit off though. Even an A4 would still make 370rwhp from 425fwhp (that's using a hypothetical engine that IS making 425). You'd be happier with a different setup, like the LE2.

330 at the wheels in an Auto with a 22.5% Drivetrain loss is roughly 425hp at the Flywheel..
You take the number at the Wheels, and divide by [100%-(Drivetrain Factor)], then put a decimal infront of the number that you get cause it's a percentage.
330/(100%-22.5%)
330/77.5%
330/.775(move the decimal cause it's a percentage)
330/.775 = 425FWHP

Basicly
i got 3 grand extra save for car
1000 slp ram air hood (painted)
2000 Cam, heads, intake manifold(installed at my mechanics)
do these numbers make sense
already have CAI ,exhaust, TB and a Tune
goal be as fast as bolt on ls1
w/o using n20

agree'd thats what i always heard to use as a rule of thumb. although there is always the na sayers who don't believe that, but as many times as i have read that all over the internet and magazines its hard to deny.
and just incase you were wondering AWD is typically between 25%-30%

False. Not to the wheels at least. Does anyone else think $2k to buy heads and cam and having someone else install it sound a little cheap? I would focus on the motor first and if you have money left over, then worry about the hood.... just my opinion though.
