Default looking for advice, rebuilding to a 355

Ok so some may have seen the dyno post, then the faulty o2 report and the rest. My motor is burning oil above 3k (smoking) and its both gas and oil.

So here is what I decided too do, rebuild the bottom end again (since its supposed to have less then 3k) but this time to 355 specs.

Here is what I am thinking of doing but this is on a budget.
(A good family friend is going to do the work with me to ensure no screw ups as this will be my first time going any deeper then a head swap or over head quad cam swaps.)
Also I have no idea where to find most of this or what is better to use so advice and if you know of anything or have anything your parting with let me know PLEASE!

Ok here we go:
Lt block to .030 over
Lt4 pistons
Rings (suggestions would be great here, its possible in time to come I MAY look at a wet shot with the lsx ecu swap)
Lightend flywheel (most likely the gm one)
Upgraded fuel pump
Svo 30 injectors
Thinner head gasket (I am not sure which is recommended so again suggestions are def. Welcome)
Electric water pump

Now I am thinking about a different cam then the current lt4 hotcam I have. However with my mildly ported lt4 heads I am looking for suggestions. They have the lt4 1.6's but I have heard mixed answers on tose handling say a cc503 cam.

That's it for now, till I get off work and can search easier. Sidekick web surfing is not fast lol

Unless the LT4s are forged go with forged pistons. I would say the LT4 rockers are not that much a prob depending on the cam you pick. Its the springs that are the real weak link. But the rockers do limit the springs you can use and cam also. Might want to upgrade those to NSA rockers like pro mags

Hmm I was not wanting to go up more then a full point in compression you think forged is a requirement? I do not mind it but it always carries a nice price tag and since my current ones were only used for less then 3k I was going to reuse them.

Now that I am home I can start searching. I would like to see 400ftq in my daily driver and leave it at that. If thats my goal though and it requires better rods then so be it.

LT4 pistons? Those won't work. You'll need different pistons, what rods are you going to be using?

Budget build, why do you need a lightweight flywheel? Stock fuel pump dying?

30# injectors should be more than enough and I don't see you hitting 400 torque with LT4 heads and cam, with a shot of nitrious, sure. There are a few threads on head gaskets and approximate compression ratios. Seems like this is going to add up a lot quicker than you're wanting. Who rebuilt the block 3K miles ago?

I have a thread on it it was a UTI Student we can leave it at that lol.

The heads are mildly ported as I said so I am just hoping to get close. With the car not running right or fully tuned to hit 323ftq at 3100-3200rpm as it did on the Mustang dyno I did not think it was to far off to think a bump in compression and 355 would get me pretty close to my goal but I guess I will have to wait and see.

Why would LT4 Pistons not work? As far as I knew they were just a bump to 10.8 compression. Or did you mean finding a set that are .030 over.

I think he meant finding a set .030 over. I suggested the forged pistons for the spray!

The thing with the spray is I am just Thinking about it later when the LSx ECU's come out and I can do say a 100 shot wet with that ecu and coil packs.

For now I am going to stick with the NA and I might add it later. The LSx ECU is a sure thing but the rest I am not so sure just thinking because I will not be trying to boost this block but I will be looking to keep up with a few others who are building boost motors so I can keep up on cruises lol.
