"Whats with the necked down collectors?" Here's another guy who didn't bother to read the entire book length thread on the LPP headers where they explain why this is from a exhaust design theory perspective.
And the post above is right on the $$$ with the material used LPP has a better grade stainless than some there's no heat issue..
I got mine with Y pipe for $500 including s/h on ebay a month ago and never looked back

The wires are not even close to the headers and SS contains heat the best
