I had a Stalled Auto, but I've always wanted a M6 cause I love to drive Standards, so I swapped mine over. That and I got sick of blowing up Auto Transmissions, so the M6 will be more dependable. That is my personal preferance.

Yea, an Auto might make it down the 1/4 Mile quicker, but lets see who can go to 100k Miles without a re-build..
Lol...I knew it would cause this. I should have just bit my tongue I could careless who has what...we are all family

Well... it's the race thats fun and it's the win that sweetens it. But the whole idea that you're 'earning a win' by shifting seems a little silly to me... Now if you're talking closed-course... I completely agree; but for the drags, in the TNT or the occasional Sportsman bracket run... which the odds are, you're not gonna win, a stick is little more than a point of pride at best and it's a distinct level of foreseeable liability if collecting the most 'wins' is what you're after.

Just my two cents...

Stalled A4, wins in the straight line, will put you in the wall on the Auto X..seen it happen a few times. A M6 is good for the curves and corners.

It all comes down to personal preferance..I'm happy with my T56 Car, and that is all that matters to me.

Well I can tell you this...you aren't gonna walk this A4 with the mods listed in your sig. It's funny to me because I think most guys experience the A4 when it's bone stock and don't like it then sell it. I really didn't have the choice when I bought mine. There wasn't shi* out there for sale...but it was CLEAN with LOW miles from the orig. owner. I would had rather it been a M6 ,but after I had my Tranny built with a rowdy shift kit and some gears...damn! Whole new car..along with my suspension it's on rails. I will track it against a M6 any day of the week.

This is something that I have found from experience..

I had a decently A4 setup in mine, but it got old after a while. You get a nice Stall and it goes like hell in a straight line, but in a way you either have all or none with your powerband. You can't take advantage of your midrange power with a decently sized Stall.

That is one of the reasons that I'll enjoy the T56, I'll be able to play with the Torque more..

Yeah I'm actually just gonna keep my 3000 stall on for the time and see how it runs with my new set up. I think after seeing Stealths video with the SS3600 stall I prob wouldn't like it all that much when my main goal is to DD the car in the summer months and keep it more streetable. I'm gonna throw some nice sticky tires on and do a few passes and call it good.

dont buy someone else's project car that you dont know about the details. did he build it? or did a shop build the engine? how do you even know its a 383? are you going to measure the stroke? etc.

if he built it do you trust his work? i wouldn't. you dont know if it was done right or thrown together without care, or he is selling it so cheap because he knows its going to blow up.

start your own projects, than you know EVERYTHING is up to your standards and EVERYTHING that is done for it and you should have MINIMAL SUPRISES.

i have made the mistake before. and now i would only buy a bone stock car, or only with a few boltons that are identified.

Alright, well I will forget about that one. How about this one?
http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/945699492.html
With the 4.11 gears, what kind of mileage would I be lookin at?
Also, seeing that it has minimal engine mods, what times could I put down?
I just figure that it's a good starting platform 'cause he has the whole drivetrain beefed up as well as the suspension. After some bolt-ons and a cam in the future, I think it could perform well.

I've seen a lot nicer ones out here in Portland for much less. I would keep looking bro! I have always enjoyed building the car rather then already having it built. That way you know it's been done right and with the right parts. Plus who's to say he didn't rally the shi* out of it. Hold off, something will come along. If this is a must buy for you I would have it checked out REAL good and then offer around 4800. Just my 2 cents

4800? You know, I've been looking around at other cars (awd DSMs, don't shoot me, at least they're not wrong wheel drive) and people think their cars are worth their weight in gold. A guy was trying to sell his '98 Eclipse GSX for $11k just because it was "nice." There are '96 V6 Camaros being sold for $6k and I just want to punch them in the back of the head. They say OBO but don't really mean it. I tried to talk one guy down who owned a '92 Talon and he wouldn't take less than $5k . It's worth like $2k if he's lucky. I don't care how big a turbo it has, it's 16 years old and didn't have much of an interior. I'm just starting to get frustrated, that's all.

From what it looks like he's trying to get the modification money back out of the car. The overall appearance isn't the best. Plus we live in Oregon...a black car SUCKS to maintain here. I saw a pretty much bone stock LS1 for sale in Happy Valley with 64k going for 6,200. It was more or less flawless too. I will keep an eye out for you bro!

Don't shoot me guys for saying the LS word

The only thing I would want off that car is the 12 bolt...lol I would look at this one before that other one..

I have not made a decision. Elliot, that's the 383 stroker I was originally talking about and everyone bashed it. I really don't want an auto, though. Sorry, I've had manual since my first car and can't part with it. Not until I'm old and have a family or something when I have to get all stupid and "practical." Still looking at a DSM, though
