Whats the low down on Optispark?
Take it apart, use red loctite on the rotor screws and add some RTV to the o-ring to better its sealing effeciency if that makes sense lol. But yeah as long as its sealed up well and the rotor doesnt fly off it doesnt have that many problems. You can even do the waterpump mod and tap the waterpump weep hole for a barbed fitting and route a hose away from the opti so when the waterpump goes it doesnt take the opti with it.

Like a couple of people have stated above, take it apart and loctite the rotor screws. In addition to that, drill out the plastic rivits holding the metal piece to the plastic rotor and replace them with aluminium rivits. I would look into converting to a 95+ vented opti. From what I read, the OEM units with the above modifications are less expensive and as reliable (if not more) than the aftermarket optis. BTW, you need a deep reverse Torx socket to remove the cover of the opti.

I took a regular reverse torx socket and ground down the sides. It works.
