Rebuild Questions
I'm going through my list of stuff and seeing which things I really need.
1)Is there much of a difference between 3/8" rocker arms and 7/16". I know the latter will be stronger but if there isnt really a difference then I can save some money and go w/ 3/8".
2)Will I be needing an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? I was told I needed it for my setup but have seen quite a few 383 guys running it without one.
3)Flat or raised guideplates? Didn't even know there were two different kinda until last night.
I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future so I'll just add it on here

1) The only difference in price is getting the holes tapped for the larger diameter stud. If you are starting from scratch, which it sounds like you are, it is a good place to lay down a small bit more $.
2) No, you don't HAVE to have one. However, I have found that the preset ones are not necessarily that accurate. Plus, you can fudge a little on your injector size by increasing the fuel pressure, just like the LS1s do.
3) I have no knowledge in this area.

Price difference in rockers is not alot if any when going from 3/8 to 7/16. As for studs you would have to buy the 7/16 stud and install. Stock studs are 7/16 on the head side and 3/8 on rocker side I believe. Your also better off with nsa rocker arms.
AFPR is not needed
flat guide plates should be good,
What are the details of the build?

Most available guideplate do not fit LT1s right. I like the Isky adjustables.
As covered above the rockers wont be any more expensive and the heads already have 7/16" holes for the studs, not a critical thing to get 7/16" but since it doesn't cost any more why bother with 3/8" at this point.
Adjustable regulators are less reliable than stock and a lot of guys just cause themselves trouble with them, skip it.

383, completely forged rotating assembly, coated bearings, 4 bolt mains, 200cc AI heads n cam, 42# injectors, racetronix fuel pump kit, 1.6 rr w/ complementary valvetrain. There's a lot of other small stuff like tb and **** but i think that pretty much sums it up. I'm shooting for around 440 rwhp and 440 rwtq
