Maybe I should've done the LS1 DS before I went with true duals. Now, it'll probably be a major pain in the *** whenever I decide to do it.

^^Why would you have a problem getting it out?

I have to totally remove my Exhaust to get mine off..and I have Single Exhaust.

are you sure about the 30lbs for a stock steel shaft? i thought it was only a 4 pound difference between the two. i know the 2 piece shaft that came on early v6's weighed a ton but i thought the steel shaft(the one pictured) only weighed like 16 pounds. no way that thing is 30 pounds

I would agree with this. It was very very noticable to me. Stocker felt twice as heavy. On the digital scale at the UPS store with u-joints and yokes the
LS1 shaft weighed 13.22 pounds

i just weighed my steel one piece shaft w/ u-joints and yoke on it was 17.8 pounds. i dont know where you guys are getting 30 pounds from. no way steel driveshafts are going to differ that much in weight.

so a ls1 shaft is around 5lbs lighter

Nice addition...check ebay cause guys are selling the LSx ones on there all day long. If you buy one used be sure it's balanced before you throw it on.
