Default Help bent opti rotor

I have been having issues with the Z, with the car turning off. I took the opti off and spun it by hand and heard something rubbing or grinding. When i took the cap off i noticed that the tip of the rotor was bent up rubbing on the cap. What could cause this to happen and could this be my problem? Also what could this affect? Do you think i should replace the cap and rotor or get a new opti? Opti has 85,000 miles on it . Thankyou

I'd replace the cap and rotor, as it's half the cost of a new distributor. CAREFULLY clean up the inside of the distributor before you put it back together.

shaft bushing on opti could be worn allowing the rotor to "move around".

you would need to pull opti to confirm.

My $.02 is replace entire opti
