Turns out MSD is closed for the week as it says on their website, but their phone system will still allow you to waste your time and claim that you are the next customer, hell I could have sat there until they open back up next week....neat. This could take a long time to resolve....a Delphi opti is looking pretty juicy.

I talked to the parts store I bought it from and I bought the only one in stock. He would also have to wait for MSD to deliver. He is going to see if he can get me another one to exchange from a distributer.

Frankly I went through this too, 2 optis, 2 ICM's finally found both my coil were bad but one would work somewhat. I went with an MSD Replacement that handled that.

However my MSD Opti went back in for repairs and they are ignoring me claiming they want 130 to pay for repairs when its less then 2 months old. We shall see.

Anyway here are some thing to check.

You said your injectors are not getting pulse. This means Opti is not sending signal OR yoru PCM is not grounded.

You have tried everything I had tried and it turned out it was PCM Grounding.

I found voltage on the tan and white grounded wires thats one way to tell your not grounded at the ECU.

The Ground that was not grounded on mine was the the Black with white stripe. Small like a 16 gauge I think goes down where the Passenger O2 does and it bolts to the block. It can cause all the issues your having.

The problem is if you remove it, or its odd stud connector to the block you have no idea where to put it. My friend who was helping me put it with the purple wire that was the same size going to the starter... hints the lack of results and weird voltage on grounds.

Either way Check that out. Its an easy fix and would have saved me 200.00 not to mention the rest I spent to have someone tell me about the over shaft installer for the water pump spline seal on the Timing Cover... I felt stupid.

Cross: The grounds are good and the wires to the grounds are good, I checked them out with the multi meter. I even have an extra giant braided ground strap, from the block to the frame. The ground on the passenger side is on its original stud and in the correct place with perfect continuity in the block. I even tried hooking jumper cables from the coil studs to the battery and frame. Sorry to hear MSD is jacking you around, these things should last forever in my opinion...mine a week , your's 2 months that isn't good. I even had a 20 min. chat with a tech before I bought mine assuring me all the problems had been taken care of and it is a great product and they have a warranty and..bla bla bla. Next thing I know I am towing my rig home in the snow.
If they so much as start to hassle me about it I am just going to return it to the store as defective and either order a new one or order a new Delphi. It ran great to work and I am about 99.9% sure it is the optical sensor at fault.

Would not surprise me, I am thinking about returning mine but I will give them one more try after this. Its supposed to be an upgrade and the rest looks solid... I am just hoping this was a flook even though its starting too look more and more like its not.

This sounds identical to what my brothers 94 LT1 was doing...
I have been working on it and did a bunch of researching and buying parts and checking parts.. The only thing I didn't check or changed was the Distributer...Guess what it was, the Damn DISTRIBUTOR. Just replaced it today and it's working just fine..
