Spun bearing / rod knocking question
Does a spun bearing cause any driveability / loss of power issues or is just noise until the bottom end craps out? Same question for connecting rod problems.

when i smoked my connecting rod bearings i had a HUGE loss of power not to mention it was knocking like a S.O.B. I thought my tranny was slipping until i noticed my oil pressure was rapidly falling. all the shavings plugged the filter and wound up really taking a toll on my crank.

Your bottom end HAS ALREADY crapped out. If your reffering to your car. Sorry bud, what are the plans for recovery?
I spun a bearing in my old Cavalier and somehow it made it home and locked up in the driveway.,

When I spun a bearing It was just b4 pulling in the garage for the night, I drove it to work knocking like crazy and losing powerevery minute, after work I drove it straight to the dealer and by the time i got there it almost wouldnt move, I left the dealer with a brand new 2000 Formula!

I had 3 spun main bearings, still had great oil pressure and didn't notice any real loss in power. Knocking rear bad, but that was the only thing wrong, until I drained the oil and it had allot of pretty sparkles in it!
