Default Pacesetter LT...Trans Dipstick Issues

The trans dipstick will not bolt to the bellhousing with the Pacesetter LT W/ EGR hooked up. Has anyone else had the issue and if so what did you do about it. I also had one nut left for the studs on the intake manifold and I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is for!

The egr tube is bendable and you should be able to bend it out of the way of the dipstick tube. There are four nuts that go on the back of the intake manifold, two for the egr tube and two for the egr valve.

i had to take a torch and heat up that tube on the header to bend it slightly. it was a big PITA to get it bolted on to. if i had to do it again i would of never bought stupid emission style headers.

T56 Swap! JK

Really, I would unbolt one side of the tube, bend it out of the way, put the trans dipstick tube where it belongs, and molest the **** out of the tube to force it to go where it has to go. Good luck man.

I can't bend the egr pipe on the headers and it is DIRECTLY in the way, maybe with some heat I could coax it around but with the amount of ppl running Pacesetter L/T I figured someone would have some ideas...keep em coming

Hate to say it, but that's why "race style" is the only way to go. Screw the emissions crap.

Answer = $$$
Any LT headers will fail the visual during a smog check, so you might as well get race style headers.

I fought and fought that damn tube finally got pissed and just pulled the header back out cut the tube and welded a piece of round stock in there to clog the hole. As far as passing visual I had this young punk doing my inspection he saw the smog pump hooked up and shut the hood never noticed that there was a off road y pipe with no cats and never even attempted to check for the egr. I f I could go back in time I would of never bought the bullshit emissions headers and also this is the first and last set of pacesetters I will ever buy going kooks next time.

If you heat the egr tube on the headers and ever so carefully bend it around you can relocate it directly behind the trans dipstick away from the heads with no clearance issues with the firewall, just for future reference
