Good job, FFB! You keep getting better. I too think you will find more in her.

Of course one of the reasons it is quick is the color...black cars are scientifically quicker! Red just looks fast. Ask any cop.

Well when I first got it together it weighed 3786 if memory serves with me in it. On empty, so with a 1/4 tank it was 3800lbs.

A buddy has Rebco 4 corner scales.

I just started picking at it, At first it ran warm in traffic because it had a big rad and a Mez HD pump, I couldnt get the factory fans on. So I pulled the A/c compressor, condenser and lines trying to get more air to the rad(condenser) and never put them back on. I have since fixed that problem with a shorter pump and modded fans. A/c box is still in car.

Removed:

Door bars
Rear bumper support
Remade my fuel pump bracket out of alum(was 1/8 plate steel)
Park brake cables and handle
Passenger airbag and bracket
All airbag modules I could find
Cut off front frame horns
Swiss cheesed behind the front fenders
Cutoff all non used brackets
Corner hood supports in engine compartment
Panhard bar support bracket
Trimmed bottom of LCA relocation brackets.
Trimmed off lower hole of rear shock relocation brackets
Lots of little nick nack stuff I just picked at here and there

And oh yeh, 50 lbs less of ME LMAO!

I am thinking about taking the 4 inch Mufflex off and putting the muffler right on the merge under the car, should be worth at least 35 lbs.

I always considered your dad a smart guy, wonder why he didn't think it could run 10's?? I remember when you started this project, you wanted 10's in a full weight car with the A/C blowing, lol. You accomplished your goal.

nice...... yup definitely hauling ***..... especially at that weight....

you just had a recent nitrous explosion didn't you???? IIRC, you cracked a piston recently? Though I had read so on YB.....

either way you got that motor back together quickly and she's runnin great obviously. I'm getting ready to take the rear of my car apart to lose some weight, attach a chute and some wheelie bars.......

Very good times.. I bet you can still get some weight out of her and maintain a good reliability and driveability.. thats the nice thing about our cars.. my lil ricer Honda friends with their fully built engines and huge turbos are always having to fix their crap and run 11's/12's with MAJOR money invested into the car... WE on the other hand can run 10's/11's/12's all motor with the A/C blowing and the car not completely gutted

Keep up the good work!

If I can stand the noise I might sell it, I streetdrive alot.

It has been modded to work with a sump stock tank.

Yeh I had a stupid episode with the spray, got lazy and it bit me. I popped 2 pistons and shrunk 2.

congrats man. You got that pig running thats for sure. Just FYI, I dropped my mufflex muffler(the one that comes with the dual rear exit pipes) at the track and picked up 2.5 and 2 mph. Nice job man.
