Your 10 bolt will hold up for all your runs except the last one.
I am torn between a 9 inch and an S60. Both are good, both have their strong points and their weak points (breaking is not one of them).
When shopping for a rear end, be sure and factor in ALL the costs. Some brands like to nickel and dime you with things (oh, you want ABS, that'll be extra).
Midwest, Strange, Moser are all good brands.
I am currently trying to decide between a Midwest Fab 9" and a Strange S60. Both under $3k fully outfitted with ABS for the street.

Spend the extra money now. That way there won't be ANY worries at the race.

For tires I would suggest either BFG's, Hoosiers, or M/T's. I wouldn't run Nittos if you plan on hitting 10's. Nittos are the least best drag radial as far as traction goes, and all of the drag radials pretty much cost the same more or less. The Nittos do last the longest though, and are the best if you get caught in the rain. A true 10-second car would annihilate Nittos unless you do a hairy burnout. M/T's are the best for traction, but they won't last a season. You might go through 2 sets in a summer if you drive a lot, and they suck in the rain-downrite dangerous.
