Default Smokeing BAD

So from the first time I started the new engine it was smoking. It starts to smoke after the car sits at idle for a few minutes after it gets warm or after it gets to operating temp and shut it down then start it again after 5-25 minutes.

Valve? The heads are T.E.A Trickflows.

Well if it's a new build and it's got bigger injectors etc etc, then you need a tune. Mine got fired up for the first time today and spit out a little rich black smoke. She needs a tune

The car has been on the dyno and was tuned for E85. Its not running fat, def. oil


I should add that when it was on the dyno we were suprised by the "low" numbers it made. Did 449RWHP, we thought atleast 500 to the tire. Then again who doesnt think there car will make more HP . I think I am loosing something since it cant be running right. It IS NOT a tuning issue I know that much. It was on the dyno for a day and a half getting it perfect, we just figured the smoke would clear up

That was my thought as well

Here is a question, since these heads are brand new do I try to get another set from T.E.A or just do the valve seals and pay out of pocket to fix there F-up?

Well you said its 'not' running fat so I would assume the smoke is white.

Dependant on if it is the seals or maybe you have some blowby you might be able to get re-embursed for your parts but you wont know till its said and done.

I would opt for you to do a compression and a leakdown. See if your motor builds good compression and then do a leakdown on all them as a follow up.

if you think its oil (blue smoke) open the throttle blades and see if oil is in the intake. you could be pulling it through your pcv fresh air hose or if the heads were milled a bit and the intake face wasnt machined the intake might not be sitting right and it will suck oil into the ports from the bottom of the intake. i would say you pulling oil from your fresh air hose is more likely than valve seals on new heads.
