Default 355 question

ok so im not building one but i have someone interested in pistons out of the 383 shortblock i have. the pistons are for a .030 over block wit 6" rods. now i know a 355 is a 350 bored .030 over but wat about the rods if you change the rods in the 355 to 6" will that work? or can a 355 not have 6" rods?

Rods do not add cubic inches, it's the Crank that does.

I'm not too knowledgeable about some of the Rotating Assembly Combinations, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a 6.000" Rod with a Stock Crank as long as the Wrist Pins in the Pistons are the correct distance from the top of the Piston so it goes to it's proper height when it gets to the TDC part of the stroke.
The only thing with that longer Rod is it will be a tighter clearance to the bottom of the Cylinder wall on the bottom of the Stroke.

I'm not too knowledgeable on it, but that is what I see.

I have 6.125" Rods in my Engine with a 4.000" Crank, LSX platfrom though, it has alot more clearance than a SBC or a LT1.
