i was going to say master cylinder.


i too, all of sudden had my brakes go bad one day. but the pedal was real hard and the car did not want to stop at all. but the problem went away the next day AFTER i bought a new brake booster

It's the large black thing behind the master cylinder.

Ah i see. so what do you guys suggest? upgrade brake booster? Replace master? or replace all calipers?

its not going to be the booster. sorry for the confusion of my post.


just make sure none of the brake lines are leaking. if the pedal is soft its most likely the master cylinder. when you pumped the brakes(with the engine off) did the pedal stay hard?

the pedal has the same pressure as it always did, it just doesnt have the effect. i have to push down super hard to get it to stop the car.

then it sounds like the problem i had. it feels like the brake pads just dont have any clamping force no matter how hard you push on the pedal, correct?

then its probably the booster

interesting.. how much was it for the booster and where did you get it? is it an easy swap??

i got mine from autozone. it was like $80 bucks. plus another $40 for a core charge. i still have mine.

i never put it in because the problem just went away the next day.

you only got a 13 1/4th mile with a hotcam kit and all those other bolt ons? shouldnt you be doin' 12's?
