Default 1993 intake elbow?

Does anyone make an elbow for the 1993 lt1's? I have a k&n fipk cold air and want an elbow that deletes that ugly piece that takes the place of the maf that is not on the 1993's. The elbow would basically have to be longer after the bend towards the filter.

The elbows are always the same size, CAI designed for a '93 are made longer for the absence of the MAF. If you have a CAI designed for a '94-'97, you just have to get a short length of black PVC pipe and some rubber couplers to fill the gap.

Yep. No specific elbow for 93s, just specific CAIs.

He's referring to the stock RUBBER elbow that comes off the TB, and if there's a specific one for 93's that were "longer" for CAIs. Basically, he didn't know he had a MAF CAI and wasn't aware that SD CAIs were longer, and not the elbow that was longer.

Nichols: What diameter is that exhaust pipe for your CAI?

Hey thanks guys. Sorry i dint check in a while. I knew that the 1993 had no maf and the 1994-1997 did. I just really like the k&n design and dint want to buy anything else. I thought someone made a longer elbow though, oh well. Ill just have to use some tubing i guess. The tube they give you to take the place of the maf chokes it down a little, I would think it would create some turbulence and restriction. Probably not enough to realize if it did.

So I need some 3.5" tubing and fittings when i get the elbow?

No one makes a longer elbow, I had to ghetto-rig mine too.

K&N kits included a piece with all of their kits just in case it was for a 93, the piece will only work with K&N's though.

lol I plan on doing the exact same thing, so there's NO shame in it! It's A) Cleaner B) better flowing C) FARRRR cheaper!
I'll sadly have to have mine dented like the aftermarket molded ones due to my ABS (which I might as well just delete since the front ABS doesn't work and the rears aren't hooked up due to being a 99+ rear)

haha ok i meant the piece to fill in the gap where the maf sensor goes. I already have a k&n fipk intake with the ugly restrictive fill in piece. i want a piece that is the same size as the aftermarketb elbow and intake.

Read two posts up - I even included a picture. I tried using the "Ugly restrictive fill in piece" you talked about with my Moroso, but it only works for K&N kits. It's going to be impossible for it to be the same size as the elbow and intake, because they have to be able to connect somehow. If you're worried about it being restrictive, you have to ghetto-rig yourself a better one - it's just one of the things about being a '93 guy.

I used a peace of 3? inch exahust pipe, worked perfect and still does on the Firehawk air box.
