Do you have evidence to suggest you are getting to rev it past peak like you should??

How log have you been running it?
my cam has the 242* intake lobe of the XFI 292 cam. it peaks really high, I would say by feel its around 6600 but it pulls hard straight to 7000 rpm (I have 2.73s in the car until I can get 4.10s, its really easy to tell where is pulling harder at). the car will go on a dyno to find out soon, I missed the dyno yesterday because of a loose rocker. pissed me off. that XFI 292 cam is NOT a stock shortblock cam. I have some bottom end work done to be able to handle the RPMs.

of course there is hardly a better sound than listening to an LT1 sing at near 7000 rpm. its beautiful.

for head work or for a head & cam PACKAGE I'd talk to LE or AI
but for a custom cam I'd talk to Joe Overton, some one who actually GRINDS cams
(last I knew LE specs his cams w/ joe o fyi)

You are a lot of years behind and grossly missinformed. Joe did not grind cams believe he used Erson a lot and YEARS ago(bet it was 4-5) Lloyd started using Bret Bauer and has since moved on and gone to another shop.
