Default Complete A4 to M6 conversion

Hey guys it has been FOREVER since I have posted here. With college and stuff I have had no time really. Currently the Z is in storage and I start it up once every other week. My question is I wanted to EVENTUALLY swap it into a six speed. I would need a shop to do this because i don't have a lift and my parents would in NO WAY let me tear the out tranny out and "RUIN" the car. I can how ever swap the six speed in but I need a shop to do this. Do you guys know any place where I could find a complete swap over kit??? I would like to buy all the parts and then just pay the shop to install since I don't have a LIFT. Thanks guys

6 speed swaps pop up all the time on the boards. Check the classifieds here, local forums, cz28, ltxtech, and Ive even seen some on craigslist and ebay.
You could also check your local salvage yards, once in a blue moon you can find a good deal at one.

If you are going to pay the labor to do this it would end up being a lot cheaper to just find a 6-speed car and transfer the parts over.

You can do it yourself. I knocked it out in my garage in 3 days taking my time. No lift here either. If you have any sort of mechanical ability, I'd say go for it. Just take your time and measure twice! LOL. You could probably find a complete swap for 12-1500 bucks. Here's some info on the swap for you:

Thanks guys I will see if I can get all the parts. I would like the kit to have about 74,000 miles or so. I will replace as many parts for new as I can. Bump for the day. Also PipesTA thanks for the link man.

That's a good write-up. That's the one I used when I did a M6 conversion on my buddy's car. Finished it in one weekend, no lift either.

+1 and you mean a properly built A4 is much better then a M6

and for around $2000~ you can have a properly built A4 that will handle a great deal of power and thats including labor from a shop.

and it will pwn the 6 speeds at the track

I never mastered the skills of driving an automatic, and I don't think I could get used to the excitement of computer controlled shifting.

I know they are more consistent, blah blah blah. But there's more to driving than just track times.

Agreed on more to driving then just the track. Both have their pro's and con's.
