problems with parking lock on shifter

Default problems with parking lock on shifter
I have a 95 trans am the parking brake lock on the shifter is working in reverse when the key is in off locked posisition the shifter can move when the key is on it is locked what could cause this?

Can you word that a little better? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding exactly what you mean...no offense.

same problem here but i cant figure out what it is ....i tried taking put the console but to no avail. maybe someone will chime in

the cable that unlocks your shifter when you turn on the car so it can move

I'm with you. I know he is referring to the BTSI (Brake Transmission Shift Interlock), but not sure what he is saying the trouble is.
