Default Weird Ignition issue

So ive got my 93 trans am and for some reason when the car is in park or neutral I cannot start the car. The key moves freely throughout but when you go to the start position it doesnt allow it to go very far. It turns just enough to turn off the radio.

Nope, the car wont start in any gear and if you jump the starter it works and if you wiggle the steering wheel eventualy the key will go forward enough to allow it to click the starter.

sounds like a problem with the ignition cylinder in the steering column where you stick the key in. Do you have a spare key, to see if the key is worn? If its not the key then I would say its the ignition cylinder. Had the problem on a truck once. If you wiggle the **** out the steering wheel, you can get the key to turn to start the vehicle.

I dont have another key but it turns smooth between all of the positions exept for start. The ignition switch works as I just took it all apart and tested it.
