Ok, well I do agree with the LT4 spring being crap BUT Im lookin at where you said it sat for about 3 months..

Im thinkin a ground, I JUST got over a long one year problem I had and it ended up being a ground, and Mine didnt do It all the time but most of the time..
If you look at your coil, there is a wide flat braided wire, body ground, follow it and see if it has rust all over the end on the body.. if it does(or it doesnt), Unscrew it from the body and take some sandpaper and clean up the ends and sand the spot on the body to clean it up.. Take if for a drive afterward..
