well first thing I'd do is print screen of his post explaining what parts are in the car, then have a talk with him about what can be done to resolve this.

if all else fails you might be able to take him to small claims court since the vehicle sold to you doesn't match the description. either a exchange of money back for the car could be done or you could be awarded the value of the parts missing

sounds like he swapped some stockers on quickly before the sale, maybe he figured he could take advantage of you

also take pics of all the things you discover that are disagreeing with the description of the vehicle

opinions like "hauled ***" are just fluffery and hold no water in court

now the guy is hurting for money as we all are along with him ....so i understand why he does want to let me keep the five or split it or anyhtingg..so i guess ill just pay the five hundred and be screwed ..but ill be helping someone out i guess....i just dont know

if he was hurting for money so bad then why was he open to trades for another car?

sounds like he got lied to and is passing the buck onto someone else, happens alot with modded cars

there's no reason to feel pity for a guy who pulled a fast one on you, you're being too nice. taking it in the *** because you don't want to be a dick is never worth it

Ok ok ok.... Lets get the sellers POV in here.

I HAD all the paperwork from the original owner that stated he purchased and placed lt4 heads, intake, and cam kit on this car. I DIDN'T DO THE MOTOR WORK. I recieved the car with every part on it as he recieved it. I dont know a whole bunch about lt1's..in fact i didnt even know what the damn air foil was till this dude said it didnt have one. When the car lost oil pressure, i had a friend of mine (whom which works at Jaguar, Land Rover aka Southern Automotive) here in Little rock give it a look over. He had the car for about around 2 weeks.. In this time he said he pulled intake off to look for some shaft that drives oil pump. he said it was fine and diagnosed the car as a broken oil pump. he quoted me a price and i laughed and brought it home. It has since sat to this date as you can tell by the dirt and collected rust on the calipers.

I put the car up for sale a LONG time ago and was interested in trades......i never took that down whenever i became more interested in cash as i turned down trades left and right. I have been planning on moving to texas, until recently when the economy has bitten the *** of the job i was aiming for. I was strapped for rent and i held this car for 2 weeks, (mind you passing up 2500$ offers every day) cause this dude sent me 100$ deposit. I was going to be fair.

I was told once i got the vehicle back from my friend that Rockers were exceptionally loose....why? you got me..i have never put rockers on a car..i have never adjusted rockers on a car. possibly cause he checked something with them and never tightened them up..i dont know...

I tell him that the tranny slipped in reverse until i flushed tranny and it worked fine...this was 4 months ago. He gets the car....says there was no oil in it. I told him that we drained it out looking for metal flakes.. He says he pours oil in it...starts car and it has oil pressure. He then tells me about 15 minutes later that he was "sideways through 3rd gear" I tell him..dude i wouldnt drive it till you tighten the rockers.

then he says..."there are bent pushrods" i said..."yes, i told you not to drive it till you tighten the rockers". If there would have been bent pushrods, my friend would have let me know. I have great feedback and have never intentionally "screwed" anyone over. I told him the headliner was here and was tore up, i forgot to put it back in car, that he can have it if he likes..he said he was "stripping it" and didnt need it.

He also agreed to pay me 1000$ cash extra on top of the sale...I have the signed document here to prove our agreements. I ALSO told him i would scrounge the cash up, buy the car back for the price he payed....

This is going on the 3rd week of him owing me money and i have been VERY patient. I think the 500$ he still owes me should be paid easily considering the payment plan i gave him.

He has been exceptionally nice about the whole process and i would probably work with him again...

Hell it didnt even need an oil pump...it needed oil and a sending unit...he got away on top of this..

Just getting in my side before i get smashed across this board.

ok well on the tranny im talking about other gears not reverse .... 1 and 2.....also i never got on the car untill ide replaced the pushrod and set the valves all the car did was idle ...the car would barly drive with the rockers that loose.....THe wholse broke loose in third was so i could imply that i liked the car so he would be happy but regarless.....ive been working on the cars my whole life... and im 100 percent sure that i did not bend a pushrod... and on top of that im fucked weather its my fault or his that the car wasnt wat he said..becuase he has my collateral ...but is collateral really ok in a situation like this idk but o well...he should have went through the car before selling it and claming it had so and so ..
