has any body run this cam

the XFI girnds are really tough on the valve train, ran one in my 95 and it liked to give the valve train hell, slung rockers at high rpm, snapped a few springs, and bent a few pushrods, this was using Comp 1.6rr's, Comp beehives, and Thunder hardend pushrods.....but it ran like a raped ape though.(I had the smaller grind though, 230/236 .571/.576 XFi290 I think

I run the XFI 268. smaller than that one. in my 383. you do need bee hive springs for the XFI's

have not had the problems great white had with his but the 292 is a bigger cam than mine.

That's a 242/248 .584/.579 109 cam. That a HUGE cam for a 350.

I would rather run something like the the XE 290HR-12

230/244 .510/.540 108.

Been tested in a stock shortblock and had not yet peaked at 7000rpms, would expect the same from a 355, but the OP did not see fit to tell us what the displacement is so I am just guessing.

The Comp rpm ranges are WAY WAY lower than reality, that particular cam I would say the rpm range listed is a solid 1000rpms lower than the reality in a 350/355.

If the shortblock is a 355 and will handle 7000rpms you will still want to stay around 10 degrees smaller on the intake.
