How hard is head porting?
Well even if what I used was cast iron, they didn't clog up, and they ported just fine. So your whole argument is defunct.
I "ported" my heads on my lt1 and it ran .2 better in the 1/4. All I did was gasket matching, resurfacing the intake the exhaust ports and some bowl blending. It worked great, took a long time, and had a nice little performance gain.
get the proper cutting tools (cutting bits, sandpaper rolls, etc etc etc etc)
set alot of time out to do the porting part
just try to gasket match and make things as even as possible, any inconsistencies here is a huge problem. keeping the port shape the same but just expanding it slightly is the overall goal.
and again, schedule alot of time for this.
