For headgaskets I just used the complete Fel Pro kit, I ordered it through Autozone.

Do you have the coffee colored oil that's nasty looking? White smoke out the exhaust?

Maybe you have some other crazy issue that is easier to fix, good luck! At least head gaskets aren't too bad on the LT1.

Definitely a head gasket or a big healthy crack.

There could be a crack in the cylinder bore or in the cylinder head casting. It's probably just the gasket though. You do need to get your heads checked with a machinists straight edge when you get them off. That's when you will find out if they need shaved or not.

How many miles since the last owner had those heads off, or did they not tell you?

Youll have nasty frothy milkshake looking coolant in the radiator if its the head gasket. I had the same problem. I ended up pulling the motor. Its going back in the first week of april. Anyone wanna help? lol

how many miles on it....and do you have access to a block check...if not call up a couple of good shops and and ask if they do if they dont know what it is they dont have one...basically it goes in ur radiator while running ur car it will expel gases in ur coolant and change the color of this block check...hence good or bad gasket, it can save u money, unless you have a milkshake for oil or the radiator cap has it all over..

so last night me and the buddy got the intake, and pushrods and all of the internal head bolts out.

guy lied, as i thought he did. the heads aren't "polished" look stock as can be inside.

i did see where some water had mixed with the oil on the underside of my valve covers. will have some pics up soon.
