There is a "PIN type" thing on the front side of the **** that looks like a staple. Pull that out with some flat nose pliers and the **** will come off. I take it you have a A4?

look at the front of the ****. There is a staple looking thing going into it. With a small screwdriver, pry that out and the **** slides right up!

I put this one on. Nice because you don't have to push down to shift etc etc..just slaps forward and back

I don't know ... I kinda like the bottom as a safety feature.
Without it, you could slap yourself into R by accident. That would be bad.

I'm really more find of the T-grips in birds than the top-button on Camaros.

Actually, once I had the console out ... it occured to me thatit would look great with an
aftermarket shifter and no console at all.

You would have to be really careless to throw it in reverse. They actually need a slight press to get em' to move. Less then the factory though.
