Weld wheels backspacing for fbodies? Whats the backspacing for our cars for an 8in wheel and for a 10in? (15x8 and15x10) Also, what's our bolt pattern? =P much appreciated |
u'd think with > 1,000 posts that you would have figured out the search function by now. |
5.5 for 15x8 and 7.5 for 15x10 just going off memory though so I could be wrong |
searched and nothing came up. care to help? |
The search is not working properly. Every time I use it it brings up everything and anything but what I typed in...and I have tried various ways, combinations, etc. to no avail. So it probably isn't his fault that the search came up dry... |

Has aynone ran a 4.75 backspacing on a 15x8? Would it stick out too much? |
Never heard of a 4.75 backspacing. I've heard of a 4.5, and yea that'll stick bout an inch or so out of the fender. |
5.5 on my 15x8s and 1.75 on the 15x3.5, pic in sig |
15x8 with a 5.5 bs is close to factory as far as sticking out |
do some weld wheels require grinding even with the proper backspaces. i know the ones smokinlt1 has fit with no grinding. |

If you have stock brakes up front, you shouldn't have to grind, but you will have to run a spacer iirc. If you have ls1 brakes up front, you will either have to grind a shit load, or grind a little bit and run a spacer. |
longer studs are recommeded if you use spacers i know its for ls1 but it give you an idea http://www.freewebs.com/casper9t9/dragwheelinfo.htm |
Bolt circle for the Weld rim is 4.75 inch If you get 15X3.5 the backspacing is 1.75 You will have to grind down caliper cooling fin weather you use spacer or not. If you use spacer you grind less. The brake pad thickness has a affect on the position of the caliper suggest replaceing the pads when you do the clearanceing. I recommend getting ARP wheel studs 12mm X 1.5, 3.25" http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=4&pcid=148 I had to get shank style lug nuts 12mm x 1.50 RH they come in open end and close end to run on the track you need open end. |
