I had a 97 Formula WS6 Hardtop a4 with cloth seats, black just like yours

Thanks guys! The side molding stays. Everytime I see a car without them I just cant help thinking it looks unfinished and was in a accident and they forgot to put it back on.
Looks good on Zs though.
