Default 94-95 code reader?

I have a obd2 scanner, and I know you cant jump the pins, but will the cheap obd 1 readers work?I am planning on getting a obd1+obd2 scanner soon,I am setting a light and getting a slight surge after my cc503 install, but my tranny is still out,and my tranny plugs are un-plugged so I am sure thats the cause.

I know your sig says 94, but why are you asking about a 95? 95s use the OBDII style 16-pin D-connector, despite being OBDI. Any OBDI reader should work, as long as it isn't the "flash the SES xxx number of times" reader.

In the meantime though, why not have Autozone or one of those places scan the code for free? Pick up an ALDL cable and download Freescan and monitor the codes and realtime engine data for free.

Short answer, NO.

I have a 94 which has an OBDII connector but only a few pins in the connector(OBDI). I've tried the inexpensive scanners. They do not work. I bought one at PEP Boys, and it did not work. Then I had to prove to them, with the help of one of their mechanics, that it will not work on my vehicle even though the box says that it would. After that I did my homework here and found that there are only a few options.

Two Options

1 - Find an auto parts store to scan it for you. Hopefully for free.

2 - Buy an ALDL cable for $60 to $90, download free software to your laptop and your set.

Not sure which of the 2 vendors are site sponsors. Here are two suppliers for the cable.

For a OBDI '95 with a OBDII port:

Don't know what you have to do for a '94 though.

You just plug in the cable for the 12 pin DLC.
