First and foremost....make sure it fits first, and that you have it aligned before cutting into the hood....then proceed...

Plan to run screens? If so then get the screens first before you cut so you can mark where you need to leave material as a backing to attach the screws to....then use a drill or a dremel with a cutting/drill bit and proceede to cut out as close as possible to the edge, then using a sanding bit to finish/smooth the rest...../done

my harwood was like that, no cutouts for ram air. I used a hole saw on the ends ( sized appropriately ) cut a straight line between them, then used a sanding role for any touch up. BE CAREFUL when doing this from the back, not to use much pressure and let the saw do the work, cause when you get through, if you are pushing the hole saw it will catch on the hood! and tear it. Mine did a little tear that is really hard to see.

not bad. i still think you need the screens. and yeah get an airbox. I think my WS6 hood/airbox is one of my favorite things i've done to my car. i'm not sure of the brand of yours but i will say i think the nostrils are a bit more rounded off than oem. that probably rules out SLP as well (i dont think SLP ever made them without the nostrils cut out)
