Quick Help with DTC/Troubleshooting Please! I'm trying to help a buddy with his '93 Z28. The car is in the shop now with DTC's 36 and 42. If i'm correct, 36 = MAF sensor error, and 42 = Ignition Bypass Circuit Error.
Now i'm a little confused about code 36 since the car does not have a MAF sensor ('93 SD)! The symptoms are the car cut off on him going about 70mph in the fast lane, and then the tach started to jump all the way up to 5k and back repeatedly while the car WAS OFF! The mechanic said the car will start up and run normal for a short while and then cut-off.
Any help what the trouble might be? TIA.
