Question 110 MPH Speedo?

I have checked the vin on the car and the part number on the cluster. Why does my 94 A4 Z28 have a 110mph speedo from the factory? I was under the impression that they were all 150 (except V6 cars). When you type in my vin it shows the 110 as the factory equiptment with the 150 as an option per vin number. Just curious to know if I'm the only one. Also, everyone says they shut down at 110 (if it has a limiter) but before I got the tune mine shut down at 108.

Don't remember for sure but it was either tires or rear gears. (3.23 cars got 150 and 2.73 got 110)

Well I had a 95 A4 car with 2.73's with the 150 speedo and it shut off at 115?? I am the second owner and the original owner purchased it from a dealer in hot springs arkansas, not only do I know that because they told me but I have the sticker from off the window with the dealer code on it. I was just curious because once you peg the needle you don't know how fast your going. Kind of takes the fun out of it you know!

Major old news. Any V8 97 and earlier f-body without the Z rated tires from the factory had a speed limiter of 108 with the lower speedometer (thought it was 115 though)

If you never got z rated tires from the factory you got the 110 speed and the 108 (yes it is 108) mph speed limiter, my car had both.

One more lick at the dead horse. My 97 came with a 2.73 rear, non-z rated tires, 110 limiter, and a 150 speedometer. And I drove it off the lot here in Indy in Feb. 97.

Maybe by then, they were only using one cluster.
